Lace Making

Yesterday I had my first proper lesson in lace making.

After spending the weekend making my lace pillow, the support for working on, I was glad to get to the class to start using it.

Martyn did a great job getting the huge piece of polystyrene into a round shape, before I decorated it in lilac colours.

i would also like to say a huge thank you to Eleanore for making me a crochet holder for the bobbins.

As you can see, I've not done lots but I have learnt the first two stitches.

 Hier, j'ai eu mon premier cours dans la dentelle.

Après avoir passé le week-end faire mon oreiller de dentelle, le soutien pour le travail , j'étais contente d'être en classe pour commencer à l'utiliser.

Martyn a fait un super boulot de faire que le gros morceau de polystyrène a pu devenir une forme ronde, avant que je ne le décore dans des tons lilas.

Je tiens également à dire un grand merci à Eléanore pour me faire un porte-crochet pour les bobines.

Comme vous pouvez le voir, je n'ai pas fait beaucoup mais j'ai appris les deux premiers points.

Postage Due

If may seem like I have been missing, but I have been working away making lots of new projects using my shiny new Sale-A-Bration and Spring/Summer products.

Can't show you these yet as they are for training on Sunday, but next week will be filled with lots of newness.

For now through, I am still loving rediscovering my stamp sets that have been dormant since November and today I am using the Postage Due set.

I have used Cajun craze, Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke on a Crumb Cake card base. 

Il semble comme si j'ai été absente, mais je travaille sur beaucoup de nouveaux projets en utilisant mes produits flambant neuf de la Sale-A-Bration  et printemps/été.

Je ne peux pas les montrer encore car ils sont pour la formation de dimanche prochain, mais la semaine prochaine sera rempli de beaucoup de nouveauté.

Pour l'instant, je suis toujours en retrouvaille de mes sets de tampons qui ont été dormant depuis Novembre et aujourd'hui, j'ai utilisé le set Postage Due.
J'ai utilisé Ocre Roussillon Cajun, Prune Parfaite et Artichaut Chaud sur une base Brune Dune.

Freshly Made Sketches #68

It feels like ages since I last used The Open Sea stamp set. So it probably has been, what with Christmas and all those snowmen and snowflakes !!

I do love getting out all my other stamps after Christmas and rediscovering the joy of make everyday cards again.

But sometimes it's hard to get back into the swing of things, so I used this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches to make my card.

J'ai l'impression  queca faire tellement longtemps depuis que j'ai utilisé le set The Open Sea. Ainsi, il a probablement été, avec Noël et ce que tous ces bonhommes de neige et les flocons de neige !!

J'aime vraiment sortir tous mes tampons après Noël et de redécouvrir la joie de faire des cartes de tous les jours.
Mais il est parfois difficile de se remettre dans le rythme des choses, alors j'ai utilisé sketch de cette semaine chez Freshly made Sketches pour faire ma carte.

Patchwork #6 And Benefits of Being a Demo

So I still have 3 squares to finish before I can start making a quilt from them. 

I still can't believe how long it has taken me to work out just how fab these Stampin' Up! fabrics are.

The box below is stuffed full of new products from the upcoming Spring/Summer catalogue and Sale-a-Bration sets. 

This is really one of the fun parts of being a demo, getting your hands on lovely new things and having the time to make cards and projects in time to tempt you.

The first thing I took of of this box, was one of the new fabric packs, which I took along to patchwork yesterday afternoon and made the cutest little bag ever !!!

It's for a training day next week, so I can't show you it until afterwards...sorry :-(

Donc, il me reste 3 carrés pour finir avant que je puisse commencer à faire un quilt.
Je n'arrive toujours pas à croire combien de temps il m'a fallu pour decouvrir jusqu'à quel point ces tissus Stampin 'Up! sont merveilleux.

La boîte ci-dessus est bourré de nouveaux produits de la prochaine catalogue printemps / été et des sets de la Sale-a-Bration.
C'est vraiment l'une des choses amusante d'être une démo, mettre la main sur de nouvelles produits belles et avoir le temps de faire des cartes et des projets à temps pour vous séduire.

La première chose que j'ai prise de cette boîte, était l'un des nouveaux packs de tissus, que j'ai pris le avec moi au patchwork hier après-midi et j'ai fait un joli petite sac avec !!!
C'est pour une journée de formation la semaine prochaine, donc je ne peux pas vous montrer avant... :-(  désolé

Patchwork #5

One thing I did do during the holidays was to advance a bit in my patchwork squares.

Here is the 5th one, and I have to say, my favourite so far.

I was really unsure of the shape as I started but by the time I sewed on the last triangle, it was all good.

Today, I have my patchwork class and we are making a special project. So this morning I will be stalking my Mr Brown, in the hope that he brings me the lovely new material packs from the upcoming Spring/Summer catalogue in time !!

And just to let you know, that I have a great time at lace making yesterday and I can't wait to start my first project next time.

Une chose que j'ai fait pendant les vacances était de faire avancer un peu dans mes carrés de patchwork.

Voici le 5ème, et je dois dire qui est de loin mon préféré.
J'étais vraiment pas sûre de la forme quand j'ai commencé mais au moment où j'ai cousu le dernier triangle, tout était bon.

Aujourd'hui, j'ai mon cours de patchwork et nous réalisons un projet spécial. Donc, ce matin, je vais traquer mon M. Brown, dans l'espoir qu'il m'apporte les nouveaux lots de tissus du prochain catalogue Printemps/Été à temps !!

 Et juste pour vous informer, j'ai un très bon moment à la dentelle hier et j'ai hâte de commencer mon premier projet la prochaine fois.

I'm Back

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well.

We have had a very quiet Christmas and New Year, just spending time as a family, watching a bit of tele and reading. Perfect !!

The Artful Readers Club 2013

Well, my first plan is to join Darcy's new 2013 challenge.

This year it is called The Artful Readers Club 

I have made a commitment to read 12 books this year

 and post a review and an art related project on the last Friday of the month.

On the right hand column of my blog you will find a list of the books I have chosen to read over the year. I have to admit that I am so excited about my choices and want to read them all now !!
