Scrapbook Sunday #140

Last week we were invited down to a new friend's house in Saint Romain En Gal so the boys could have a play in her pool while we scrapped and chatted.

(Actually I had been down at the weekend too, but more of that another day !!)

I took my new camera and got a couple of photos of the boys having fun.

La semaine dernière, nous avons été invités chez une nouvelle amie à Saint Romain en Gal pour les garçons pouvaient jouer dans sa piscine pendant que nous discutions et créé.

(En fait, j'avais été chez elle le week-end aussi, mais plus de nouvelles de cela un autre jour!)

J'ai pris mon nouvel appareil photo et j'ai pris quelques photos des garçons qui s'amusent.

Artful Readers Club August 2013

Welcome back for another review in this year's challenge with Darcy, the Artful Readers Club.

This month I read Life of Pi by Yann Martel.

It was on Graham's reading list for the school holidays, so we decided to read it at the same time, but as a 14 year old doesn't have to wash, iron, cook and clean - he finished quite a bit before me and then kept asking if this or that had happened yet !!!

I think because the book has already been made into a film, I wasn't looking forward to reading it.

 I don't know why as I've not seen the film yet, but there was just something putting me off.

But I can now say that I loved it, even if I was a bit surprised by the ending - I'm not going to spoil it for you but I probably could have finished about 20 pages earlier and still been happy.

I loved reading about the zoo in Ponticherry, Pi's home town. I had a little chuckle about his name and his uncle. I was on the edge of my seat a few times as Pi and Richard Parker travelled across the Pacific Ocean. I felt Pi's pain in the hot sun and the sting of salt water. I felt his relief at meeting other humans. I understood his difficulty in choosing just one religion.

 I would recommend this book as I really felt the sense of adventure that I haven't got out of a book for ages. Although I would never get on a cargo ship crossing the Pacific !!!!

Scrapbook Sunday #139

It might have been over 30C last week when I did this scrapbook page, but I am getting ready for Christmas in my craft room already.

I have used some new products from our upcoming Autumn/Winter catalogue, as well as some favourites which are still available from last year.

Ce aurait peut-être eu plus de 30C la semaine dernière quand j'ai fait cette page de scrapbook, mais je suis prête pour Noël dans mon atelier déjà.

Swaps Recieved Part 1

I have started making up the swaps I received as part of the shoebox swap.

Here are the first four from Nicola, Elaine, Valerie and Fiona.

I have most of these sets which means that I can redo some more of my favourites but I don't have (yet!!!) By The Seashore - but it looks lovely doesn't it.

 

J'ai commencé à faire les swaps que j'ai reçus dans le cadre du swap de boîte à chaussures.

Voici les quatre premiers de Nicola, Elaine, Valérie et Fiona.

J'ai la plupart de ces ensembles qui signifie que je peux refaire un peu plus de mes favoris, mais je n'ai pas (encore!!) By The Seashore - mais c'est beau n'est-ce pas.

Shoe Box Swap

I recently took part in a Shoe Box Swap with 14 other demos in the UK.

I haven't made all the cards yet, but this is the card that I made to share.

Flower Shop is a new stamp set that has a matching punch, and may finally replace Greenhouse Garden that I loved from a few years ago.

I'll show you the other cards once I have made them all up.

 

J'ai récemment participé à une echange boîte à chaussures avec 14 autres démos au Royaume-Uni.

J'ai n'ai pas encore fait toutes les cartes, mais c'est la carte que j'ai faite à partager.

Flower Shop est un nouveau jeu de tampons qui a une perfo correspondant, et peut enfin remplacer Greenhouse Garden que j'aimais il y a quelques années.

Je vais vous montrer les autres cartes une fois que je les ai toutes faites.
