Postcard Challenge Week 52

 Oh my, it's the last card for Darcy's Postcard Challenge.
And I have really come to love my two characters and will miss them next week

Oh mon dieu, c'est la dernière carte pour le défi Carte postale de Darcy.

 Et j'ai vraiment appris à aimer mes deux personnages et ils vont me manquer la semaine prochaine.

For this last week, we are off to sunny Mexico and I have tried my drawing skills again. But I am very pleased with this sombrero on the Mexican flag.

Pour cette dernière semaine, nous partons pour le soleil du Mexique et j'ai essayé à nouveau mes compétences en dessin. Mais je suis très heureuse avec ce sombrero sur le drapeau mexicain.

Simone is the lucky one in the sun and she writes to Tim...

I am spending the New Year in Mexico.

Postcard Challenge Week 51

It's the penultimate week for Darcy's Postcard Challenge and we are in Greenland.

 C'est l'avant-dernière semaine du défi Carte postale de Darcy et nous sommes au Groenland.

I saw some stunning images of Greenland while I was looking around for ideas.

But Birthday Canyon really stood out most.

I started my card by brayering in Tempting Turquoise before adding some Pacific Point.

I made the ice using Frost White Shimmer paint and then made the whole thing sparkle with a quick spray of Champagne Mist Shimmer paint.

J'ai vu des images époustouflantes du Groenland pendant que je regardais pour trouver des idées.

Mais Birthday Canyon qui m'a vraiment marqué .

J'ai commencé ma carte par brayering dans Turquoise Tentation avant d'ajouter un peu de Pointe Pacifique. J'ai fait la glace en utilisant la peinture chatoyante blanc givré, puis j'ai fait étincelé tout avec un jet rapide de peinture chatoyante Brume de Champagne.

This is Tim's last postcard to Simone and he is bitterly saying goodbye.

C'est Tim dernière carte postale de Simone et il est amère de dire au revoir.

Nous avons toujours dit que nous viendrions à Birthday Canyon pour ton anniversaire. 

Mais comme cela n'allait jamais se passer maintenant, je vais en profiter seul.

Postcard Challenge Week 50

This week we are in Hawaii for Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

Cette semaine on se retrouve en Hawaii pour le Défi de Cartes Postale de Darcy.

 The state flower for Hawaii is the hibiscus, so I got out my old faithful stamp set of Greenhouse Garden to make some pale yellow flowers. I have used So Saffron and Rose Red to colour them.

 La fleur de l'état d'Hawaï est l'hibiscus, alors j'ai sorti mon vieux et fidèle jeu de tampon Greenhouse Garden de faire quelques fleurs jaune pâle. J'ai utilisé Tellement Safran et Rose-Rouge pour les couleurs.

Simone has got tougher with  Tim and writes to him...

 Simone est devenue plus sévères avec Tim et lui écrit ..

Dear Tim,
I will not be blackmailed into staying with you.
I have spoken to the children (remember, they are adults) and yea, they are not happy but they do understand.

Postcard Challenge Week 49

This week we are back in Europe, in Sweden with Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

 Cette semaine, nous sommes de retour en Europe, en Suède, avec Le Défi Carte postale de Darcy.

My mum used to work for IKEA, so that was my first thought went I saw the country of the week.

I've used Pacific Point cardstock with some bright Daffodil Delight letters, with a Basic Grey backing to make them stand out more.

Ma mère a travaillé pour IKEA, donc ça a été ma première pensée quand j'ai vu le pays de la semaine.

J'ai utilisé du papier cartonné Pointe Pacifique avec des lettres vives en Narcisse Délice, avec un Gris Souris support pour les faire ressortir plus.

Tim is writing to Simone, using a bit of emotional blackmail.

Tim écrit à Simone avec un peu de chantage émotif.

 Chère Simone,

J'ai vu ton avocat alors que je visitais les enfants.

Postcard Challenge Week 48

 Simone is off to Argentina for Darcy's Postcard Challenge this week.

Simone est allée en Argentine pour le Défi Carte postale de Darcy cette semaine.

Now....many of you may be asking what these big red balls have to do with Argentina, well, one of the boys favourite TV programmes is called Total Wipeout and it is filmed in Argentina. So when Graham suggested this for my card this week, I thought it was a fun idea.

Alors... beaucoup d'entre vous peuvent se poser ce que ces grosses boules rouges ont à voir avec l'Argentine, eh bien, l'une des émissions de télé préférées des garçons s'est appelé Total Wipeout et il est filmé en Argentine. Ainsi, lorsque Graham a suggéré cela pour ma carte de cette semaine, j'ai pensé que c'était une idée amusante.

I only have a few weeks left to work. I have found someone to spend my retirement with and it's not you.

Postcard Challenge Week 47

 A huge leap from last week's country to this week's - we are in Jamaica for Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

Un enorme saut du pays de la semaine dernière pour le pays de cette semaine - nous sommes en Jamaïque pour le Défi de Carte Postale de Darcy.

I used a publicity shot for the island that I found on a search and used re-inkers and baby wipes to create the background of sky, sea and sand. I think inked up an old tree stamp to create the mangroves at either side to frame the beach.

J'ai utilisé un spot publicitaire pour l'île que j'ai trouvé sur une recherche et j'ai utilisé des ré-encreurs et des lingettes bébé pour créer le fond de ciel, mer et sable. J'ai ensuite encrée un vieux tampon arbre pour créer les mangroves de chaque côté pour encadrer la plage.

Tim is writing to Simone but how will she react to this declaration.

Tim est écrit à Simone mais comment réagirait-elle à cette déclaration.

Eh bien, tu m'as dit de m'en tirer. Est Kingston assez loin?
Je ne vais pas te laisser partir Simone. Tu es ma femme. Tu es depuis si longtemps. Il n'est pas encore fini!

Postcard Challenge Week 46

 Week 46 already !! And Darcy has sent us off to Tibet this week.

I have done some prayer flags dancing in the wind.

Postcard Challenge Week 45

 This week we are not so far away in Monaco for Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

Cette semaine, nous ne sommes pas tellement loin à Monaco pour le Défi Carte postale de Darcy.

I always associate Monaco and Monte Carlo with fancy cocktails !!

I've never been but in all the films that's what they actors are all drinking.

J'ai toujours associé Monaco et Monte Carlo avec des cocktails de fantaisie!
Je n'y suis jamais allée, mais dans tous les films c'est ce que les acteurs sont en train de boire.

Postcard Challenge Week 44

As Darcy's says on her blog, not many countries left... this week we are in Slovenia.

Comme Darcy dit sur ​​son blog, il ne reste plus beaucoup de pays ... cette semaine nous sommes en Slovénie.

I used the Slovenian Coat of Arms as my postcard this week, and behind I have lots of hot air balloons with Slovenia written on them. Although I think all that Tim will see is the LOVE.

J'ai utilisé le Blason slovène comme ma carte postale de cette semaine, et derrière j'ai beaucoup de montgolfières avec la Slovénie écrits sur eux. Bien que je pense que tout ce que Tim va voir, c'est LOVE.

Postcard Challenge Week 43

This weeek we are in Finland for Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

Cette semaine, nous sommes en Finlande pour le Défi Carte postale de Darcy.

And I couldn't resist using an image of the best Eurovision winner EVER !!!

I love watching Eurovision, although I think it's better to watch when slightly under the influence of a few wines !!

I've even added a link to the video, so you can enjoy some traditional Finnish rock, ha ha..

Et je n'ai pas pu résister utilisant d'une image du meilleur vainqueur d'Eurovision JAMAIS!

J'adore regarder l'Eurovision, même si je pense que c'est mieux de regarder quand on est légèrement sous l'influence de quelques verres de vins!

J'ai même ajouté un lien vers la vidéo, de sorte que vous pouvez profiter de rock traditionnel finlandais, ha ha ..

Postcard Challenge Week 42

 This week we are going somewhere even colder than last week....Russia

for Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

Cette semaine, nous allons quelque part encore plus froid que la semaine dernière, la Russie ....

I have known for sometime what image I wanted to use for this challenge.

I really hope that one day I get the opportunity to visit Moscow and see the beautiful cathedral.

Je savais depuis longtemps l'image que je voulais utiliser pour ce défi.
J'espère vraiment qu'un jour j'aurai l'occasion de visiter Moscou et de voir cette belle cathédrale.

Postcard Challenge Week 41

This is the week I have been looking forward to since this challenge started !!

I'm going home......to Scotland for Darcy's Postcard Challenge .

 C'est la semaine, j'ai hâte de voir depuis que ce défi a commencé !!
Je rentre chez moi ...... en Ecosse pour le Défi Carte postale de Darcy.

We have had many dinner times conversations this week about what I should do for my card,

each evening it got more and more bizarre !! LOL

I went with OH's first suggestion which was a haggis on the Scottish Highlands but I did add Graham suggestion of him wearing a kilt. I stopped before I added the bagpipes and the dram of whisky and the haggis doing the Highland Fling !!! 

Although the photo does make it look like the sun is shining out of his derrière.

I am very pleased with my background and the moody looking skyline, I am getting more to grips with my brayer as the weeks go on.

 Nous avons eu de nombreuses conversations au dîner cette semaine sur ce que je dois faire pour ma carte, chaque soir ça devenait de plus en plus bizarre! MDR

J'y suis allée avec la première suggestion de mon mari qui était un haggis sur les Highlands écossais mais j'ai ajouté la suggestion Graham de lui faire porté un kilt. Je me suis arrêté là avant que j'ai ajouté de la cornemuse et le dram de whisky et le haggis qui font le Highland Fling!

Même si la photo ressemble que le soleil brille de son derrière.

Je suis très heureuse avec mon arrière-plan et l'horizon morose, je suis de plus au main avec mon Brayer au fil des semaines.

Je sais que nous avons besoin de parler, mais, oui, je t'évite pour le moment.

Postcard Challenge Week 40

This week, we are in Portugal for the Darcy's Postcard Challenge,
can you believe we are already at week 40! Only 12 weeks to go ...

Cette semaine, nous sommes au Portugal pour le Défi Carte postale de Darcy,
pouvez-vous croire que nous sommes déjà à la semaine 40! Seulement 12 semaines à faire ....

When me and my 'friend' Google were looking for ideas about Portugal, we found out that it is very famous for it's tile industry. There is even a Tile museum in Lisbon.

Quand moi et mon «ami» Google étaions à la recherche d'idées sur le Portugal, nous avons découvert qu'il est très célèbre pour son industrie des carreaux. Il y a même un musée de Carrelage à Lisbonne.

Postcard Challenge Week 39

 We are off to the Czech Republic for Darcy's Postcard Challenge this week.

Nous partons pour la République Tchèque pour le Défi Carte postale de Darcy cette semaine.

Tim appears to want to wind Simone up as his postcard is of a Pilsner bottle, the oldest beer in the world. Maybe she won't have her contact lenses in and miss it - I mention contact lenses as these are also an invention from the Czech Republic.

Tim semble vouloir enroulé Simone comme sa carte postale est d'une bouteille de Pilsner, la plus ancienne de la bière dans le monde. Peut-être qu'elle n'aura pas ses lentilles de contact et ne le remarque pas- je parle des lentilles de contact car ils sont aussi une invention de la République Tchèque.

Postcard Challenge Week 38

 Simone hasn't had to go far from her last trip, just a quick hop over to Dubai

 for this week's challenge with Darcy.

Simone n'a pas eu besoin aller loin depuis son dernier voyage, juste un saut à Dubaï
  pour le défi de cette semaine avec Darcy.

I decided to go for a flashy sports car as we seem to see lots of abandoned ones in airport car park recently. So there must still be some speeding up and down, right ?!?

J'ai décidé d'aller pour une voiture de sport exubérante comme on semble voir beaucoup de celles abandonnées dans les parkings de l'aéroport récemment. Donc, il faut toujours avoir une certaine qui roulent toujours, n'est ce pas ?!?

Simone has obviously forgotten that Tim has just been in Greece as she writes...

Postcard Challenge Week 37

 We continue our trip round the world by postcards with Darcy in Greece this week.

Nous continuons notre tour du monde en cartes postales avec Darcy en Grèce cette semaine.

Tim is back on his feet, ha ha, that could be a little joke too, as my postcard this week is of a shoe. These shoes are called tsarouhi

and are part of the traditional uniform worn by guards

Tim revient sur ses pieds, ha, ha, cela pourrait être une petite blague aussi, ma carte postale de cette semaine est d'une chaussure. Ces chaussures sont appelées tsarouhi
et font partie de l'uniforme traditionnel porté par les gardes.

Postcard Challenge Week 35

 This week we are off to Egypt for Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

We have some very good friends that live in Cairo and when they came to visit as Christmas, they brought the boys some Egyptian gifts inside a beautiful bag.

My card today uses a reduced scanned image of one of the bags and I wrote Egypt using a ruler that was inside with the hieroglyphic shapes on it.

Cette semaine, nous partons en Egypte pour défi Carte postale de Darcy.

Nous avons de très bons amis qui vivent au Caire et quand ils sont venus nous rendre visite à Noël, ils ont apporté des cadeaux aux garçons égyptiens à l'intérieur d'un beau sac.

Aujourd'hui, ma carte utilise une image réduite de numériser un des sacs et j'ai écrit l'Egypte à l'aide d'une règle qui était à l'intérieur avec les formes hiéroglyphiques sur elle.

Postcard Challenge Week 35

 Hungary is our country this week on Darcy's Postcard Challenge.

I have done one side of a Rubik's cube as the inventor, Mr Rubik was Hungarian.

My husband can complete one of these in seconds, and it always impresses me.

I remember many spending many hours trying to complete it as a teenager, and did manage to do it once !! I was very proud of myself and I remember everybody thinking that I had just taken it apart and put it back together.

La Hongrie est le pays cette semaine sur le défi Carte postale de Darcy.

J'ai fait un côté du cube de Rubik comme l'inventeur, M. Rubik était hongrois.

Mon mari peut compléter un de ces en quelques secondes, et il m'impressionne toujours.
Je me souviens d'avoir passé des heures et des heures en essayant de le compléter à l'adolescence, et j'avait réussi à le faire une fois !!! J'étais très fière de moi et je me souviens que tout le monde pensaient que je venais juste de le démonter et de le remonter.
